Michael & Robert Hawk established Hawk Cricket in 1996.
Our aim is simple, to make the finest cricket bats and supply highest quality soft leather goods and cricket equipment for the committed cricketer.
In 2004 Hawk joined forces with Bernie Facer of Double B bat makers, Hawk are proud to have on board such a highly regarded bat maker, Bernie has over 40 years experience and knowledge of willow, putting him in the top handful of bat makers in the world today.
Hawk cricket operates on a personal basis and welcome customers and visitors to their workshop.
Hawk Cricket Bats are completely handmade from the very best English Willow, sourced from farms dedicated to growing willow for bat-making. It is renewably harvested and collected, dried and treated by specialist suppliers in Essex.
The handle is precisely constructed, using cane, cork, willow and adhesive. It is then turned and fitted to the bat, set slightly forward to follow the natural bow of the blade. The handle is left oval for greater feel.
Every blade is pressed individually to achieve optimum performance. The shaping of the blade is done totally by hand and eye to ensure the right amount of wood is left in the right areas, for the perfect balance.
After sanding each bat is partially hand knocked in, 4 coats of oil are applied, pro face fitted, handle turned and rubber grips fitted, finally Hawk chrome graphics are applied.
